Why We’re Building SellingIt
Running a small business often means moving quickly between customers, products, bills, stock checks, suppliers, and the questions that arise at the end of a busy day. Many businesses manage these jobs through notebooks, messages, spreadsheets, and separate software. Each tool may help with one task, but the important information is left scattered.
We are building SellingIt around the everyday work behind a sale: recording it clearly, keeping products and inventory organized, maintaining useful customer information, and reviewing what has been entered. The aim is practical software that helps a business work with its own records more confidently, without adding complexity simply for the sake of feature count.
That means being careful about product claims. A business system should make its available workflows understandable, while leaving merchants in control of their policies, data, tax responsibilities, and decisions.
Built for Small and Growing Businesses
SellingIt is being designed for businesses that need a simpler way to manage day-to-day selling and operations. For a product-based business, that can mean keeping a catalog, prices, stock availability, and billing information in order. For a service business, it can mean maintaining customer context and a clear record of the work or sale being billed.
It can be relevant to kirana and provision stores, grocery stores, small supermarkets, general stores, toy shops, electronics shops, clothing stores, and other local retailers. It can also be relevant to photographers, carpenters, repair professionals, freelancers, and local service providers. Some businesses sell both products and services, so the product direction is not limited to one type of merchant.
Every business has its own process. SellingIt does not assume that each industry needs a separate specialized workflow; instead, it focuses on the shared operational foundations that businesses can configure around their actual way of working.
